Embracing Your New Identity in Christ

In my previous blog, I addressed believers who might feel lost or disconnected. Many of us grapple with feelings of guilt or backsliding. We are already saved, yet we search for a way back to that first love, that freedom in Christ through grace. We seek restoration of our belief in His promises and our trust in His Word. We ask Him to use our brokenness, to help us surrender our doubts and confusion. We long for the light of hope to dispel the shadows of discouragement. We haven't "lost" our salvation; we simply need help getting back on the right path.

But First We Must Be Saved!

Salvation Doesn't Remake - It Makes New

The foundation for this truth is found in 2 Corinthians 5:17: “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!” Jesus doesn't remake you; He creates a new you. He gives you His heart, His faith, and His Holy Spirit to live inside you. This is mind-blowing!

The Meaning of Being "In Christ"

The phrase “if anyone is in Christ” speaks to a spiritual union that marks the beginning of a new identity. Being "in Christ" means more than just believing in Him; it means being joined to Him in a way that changes everything about who you are.

• It signals the start of a new spiritual life.

This journey as a new creation is not without struggle and suffering. Don't linger on the fringes, where the wolves can pick you off. Get into the Word, meet with other believers, and don't give the enemy a chance to entangle you in old habits.

• Accept your new identity as a new creation, not just a repaired version of your old self.

• Walk daily in the Spirit’s power, allowing Him to guide and renew you.

There is no other King like our King. Abide and find joy. Remain close to fellow believers and grow. The Living God selected you and is concerned with the details of your life. He is your source and will direct your paths.
